The Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) reported this Friday that the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) registered a month-on-month variation of 8.9% in August 2026, a figure that reflects a decline after the two seismic events that affected national economic activity.

The issuer noted that during August there was evidence of a recovery in marketing channels, as well as lower pressures in the exchange market, expressed in a more moderate change in the exchange rate and in the stabilization of the prices of goods and services.

According to the BCV, this behavior allowed the resumption of an inflation rate consistent with macroeconomic policy actions aimed at price stabilization, after the initial impact that earthquake movements generated on the country's economic dynamics.
