IVIC activates first postgraduate course in regenerative medicine and stem cells

The Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) announced the launch of the country's first postgraduate course in regenerative medicine and stem cells, a training offer that makes it the only training center in Latin America with specialized studies in this sector.

“We are going to continue training staff at the highest level so that Venezuela can become an international reference school in regenerative medicine,” said José Cardier, director of the Center for Regenerative Medicine at IVIC.

He explained in an interview broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión that the first promotion will begin its activities next week and indicated that the program is aimed at doctors and biologists, with the objective of ensuring the continuity of the lines of research developed by the institution.

The researcher stressed that the initiative aims to strengthen scientific capacities and ensure the permanence of accumulated knowledge in advanced therapies, a key element to sustain national development in this discipline.
