The Center for Ecology of the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) will organize a seminar on April 29 focusing on forests located in the southeastern region of Venezuelan Guiana, specifically in the Sierra de Lema.

The activity, entitled Forest Gradient from Sierra de Lema to the Gran Sabana, will take place in the Carlos Schubert auditorium at 10:30 in the morning and will include the participation of Professor Lionel Hernández, a member of the National Experimental University of Guiana (UNEG) and the Center for Ecological Research of Guiana.

During the event, the situation of the region's forests will be analyzed based on the results obtained by UNEG researchers and scientific collaborations. The main threats faced by this ecosystem will also be addressed and recommendations will be offered based on specialized studies.

The seminar will be available in virtual format through the link: https://meet.jit.si/SeminarioCentroEcologia, allowing remote participation of interested parties, according to a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Science and Technology (MINCYT).
