Venezuelan billiard player Jerry Calderón was among the 20 best in the world in the Heyball billiard champions' tournament held at the Exhibition and Convention Center in Brisbane, Australia.

The tournament, which brought together the top 64 finishers in the world, served as a preparation for Calderón for the 21st edition of the Lima Bolivarian Games and to add to the international ranking of the Heyball billiards category.

The Venezuelan began his journey in the tournament by winning the Swedish Zarekani Takhti Kevin 7 games to 5, advancing to the round of 32, where he gave up a match played with the British Jordan Shepherd 7 tables to 4. Despite the defeat, the Venezuelan showed great talent for heyball.

The final ranking of the tournament determined that the Venezuelan will occupy the 17th position, demonstrating the potential in this type of billiards worldwide.
