The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, emphasized that they are in the full consultation process to approve in a peremptory manner the Venezuelan Red Cross Law, which will have 27 articles.

“It's a very nice law, it has seven chapters and 28 articles. It is a law that preserves and cares for international humanitarian law, that preserves the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic and that establishes the main purpose of the Red Cross, which is disaster relief and care for vulnerable people,” Rodríguez explained.

He also highlighted that more than 23,000 compatriots have returned to the country through the Great Mission Back to the Fatherland, mainly from the United States of America. “They are people who return with a broken dream, they are people, who return full of worries and have received the attention of the Bolivarian Government and the Red Cross,” he said.

“Venezuela welcomes its compatriots with open arms and we will continue to do so,” he added.
