Renowned jurists Mohamed Baccar, president of the Association of Mediterranean Jurists and Lawyers, and Ratiba Miladi, executive director of AATASSIMO, held a meeting with the Venezuelan ambassador to Tunisia, Reinaldo Bolívar, to report on the actions they are taking for the release of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, as well as to propose activities to Bring Them Back National Committee, with a view to pressuring the United States (USA) for the rescue of the Venezuelan presidential couple.

Baccar and Ratiba indicated that they submitted requests to international bodies, pointing out that in the Venezuelan case, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, international law has been violated and that there is no valid legal reason against President Maduro or against Deputy Flores. At the meeting, they delivered copies of the letters they presented, referring to the Venezuelan case.

Ambassador Bolívar congratulated the jurists for their intense activity in favor of human rights, thanked them for their solidarity with Venezuela and informed that all materials will be delivered to the authorities of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.

Dr. Mohamed Baccar is an advisory lawyer before the International Criminal Court, a lawyer for the Tunisian Court of Cassation and an active member of the Arab Lawyers Union, while Dr. Ratiba Miladi is an assistant advisor to the International Criminal Court. Both are activists for the Palestinian cause.
