Karate won two gold medals in kata in the South American Youth Championship

The Venezuelan karate team won two gold medals in the kata modality at the IV Pan-American Youth Games Panama 2026.
Andrea Moros and Enzo Quintana won the gold after beating their rivals from Brazil and Argentina, respectively.
In the women's category, Moros was crowned by unanimous decision winning 7-0 (78-76, 77-74, 75-72, 77-73, 77-75, 77-73, 74-70) against Brazil's Ana Fedalto in the fight for the gold medal.
The Venezuelan advanced to the final stage after leading Group A in the elimination phase with two victories and a total of six points.
In the semifinals, Moros defeated Chile's Emily Cortes 5-0 (73-71, 72-71, 75-72, 84-71, 73-70).
The bronze medals were shared by Colombia's Annette Vargas and Chile's Cortes.
For his part, in the men's category, Quintana won the gold after defeating Argentinian Facundo Aguirre 7-0 (77-74, 77-76, 76-72, 80-77, 77-75, 75-73, 77-74).
Quintana started his way to the podium from Group B, where he recorded two undefeated wins to accumulate 6 points and lead the series.
In the semifinals, the Venezuelan beat Brazilian Akilys Cardoso by unanimous decision 5-0 (79-73, 79-77, 75-73, 75-71, 75-74) to enter the fight for gold.
The bronze medal went to the Panamanian Manuel Morales and the Brazilian Cardoso
