President in charge: Venezuela and Colombia will continue to fight criminal groups at the border

This Friday, April 24, the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, assured that Venezuela and Colombia will continue to combat criminal and violent groups on the border that unites the two nations.

“These are firm steps, and I am very pleased that we, thanks to the Government of President Petro, are taking this very important step in the fight against these violent, criminal groups and that we can, with great seriousness and professionalism among our Security Agencies, take important steps,” he said.

This was stated at the Miraflores Palace, Caracas, at the conclusion of the meeting he held with the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro.

He also mentioned the importance of economic activity “both in the territory of Colombia and in the territory of Venezuela, as far as both governments are concerned for the care of the most vulnerable populations who have also been victims of crime on the border.”

On the other hand, the president in charge expressed her gratitude to President Petro “you were one of the first people who called us that January 3rd, at such a difficult time for the Venezuelan people, to express your solidarity.”

“I want to thank you again and thank you for your visit to our country. You are convinced that there is a committed Government here so that the development of both Colombia and Venezuela can honor what was the concept of our Liberating Father Simon Bolivar. Thank you very much, President,” he said.
