The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that Venezuela and Colombia have consolidated a technical road map for the reactivation of electrical interconnection, focused mainly on stabilizing supply in Western Venezuela.

“The electrical interconnection is already one step away and so is the gas interconnection, in which we can not only bring gas to Colombia, but together we can export gas to other countries,” he said at the Miraflores Palace, Caracas, at the conclusion of the meeting he held with the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro.

He stressed that the electrical and gas interconnection “was also part of the approach we had moments ago.”

The president in charge pointed out that the priority issue at this time in this area of the country, but also the Venezuelan people in general, who “suffer from the process of divestment in the National Electricity System (SEN), well, as a result of sanctions that have directly affected the production of spare parts and maintenance of our National Electricity System.”
