Venezuelan Luis Arráez is the main
driver of the Vinotinto offensive with 11 hits, 5 of them extra base (three
doubles and two home runs) in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
Arráez is the leader in RBIs with
6, the same number as his compatriot Ronald Acuña and the North American Kyle Schwarber, and he is
also the second player with the most RBIs (7) and co-leader in home runs, equal to Aaron Judge, Oneil Cruz and Junior Caminero.
The current infielder of the San
Francisco Giants recorded his name in the World Cup record books, after
his impressive performance against the Israeli national team, becoming the
only player in the history of the World Classic to connect two home runs in the same game in two different
editions (2023 and 2026).
Arráez has a batting average of
.545, an OBP of .583, a slugging of 1,364 and a stratospheric OPS of 1,947, according to the newspaper El Líder.
The Yaracuyano is Venezuela's second
all-time home runner in the World Classic, second only to legend Miguel Cabrera, who scored 6 in five editions.
This Wednesday, the leader of group
D will be defined, at 8:00 at night, at LoanDepot Park, when the Venezuelan
Baseball Team faces the Dominican Republic, both undefeated teams.
The winner of this match will advance to face South Korea in the quarterfinals, while the loser must face the reigning champion, Japan.
