A magnitude 5.0 earthquake shook the Caribbean, affecting the territories of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, according to records from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

They also indicated that the epicenter of the seismic phenomenon was located 53 kilometers northwest of Aguadilla, in Puerto Rico.

The movement was felt in different areas of both nations. So far, the official bodies of the affected countries have not reported significant material damage or injured people.

It is worth noting that on July 14, a 4.5 earthquake occurred in the Dominican territory with an epicenter in the northeast of the country, 6.8 kilometers southeast of the tourist city of Las Terrenas.
