The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Mali, Abdoulaye Diop, received the Venezuelan ambassador to the African country, Elio Colmenares, to whom he reiterated his Government's solidarity with the Bolivarian nation after the military attack on January 3 by the United States (USA), which left more than a hundred soldiers and civilians dead.

During the meeting, held at the headquarters of the Malian Foreign Ministry in Bamako, Ambassador Colmenares reported in detail about the criminal imperial aggression and the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, according to a press release from the Embassy.

The Venezuelan diplomat stressed that, despite this violation of international law, the Latin American nation maintains unity, the rule of law and institutionality, and reaffirmed the willingness of the Bolivarian Government to peaceful and respectful dialogue.

In this regard, he referred to the measures taken by the president in charge Delcy Rodrígue z, including the creation of a high-level commission to secure the release of the head of state and the Commission of the Agrifood, Industrial and Communal General Staff to meet the needs of the people.
