The sectoral vice-president of Planning, Ricardo Menéndez, said that the popular national election of March 8 will be “binding” to respond to the priorities set by the communities.

He explained that the National Executive will allocate resources from oil revenues to two funds. “The president in charge Delcy Rodríguez decided that they are going to dedicate themselves to two large funds, which are precisely going to this consultation,” she said in the A Pulso program.

He indicated that one of the funds will deal with the social area and the other with infrastructure and equipment. He added that this scheme implies “a revolutionary change in what is done with resources and how they are distributed”.

Menéndez argued that the method is intended to curb administrative practices and reinforce direct participation. He assured that with this model “all bureaucratic action is stopped” and “obeys the People's Power”.

He invited citizens to participate in the day and recalled that there are 5,336 communal circuits in the country, with the goal of reaching 6,000.
