As part of the actions to prevent accidents as a result of structural damage caused by the earthquake that shook several states of the country, the Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, announced the suspension of the gas supply.
“We have some damaged structures and we don't want any kind of accident with gas to happen, we have ordered the temporary closure of the gas until we finish the evaluation,” he said.
In telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the 5th sector vice-president of Politics, Public Security and Peace asked to be kept on the streets away from buildings, while urging that security and emergency care agencies be informed of any registered eventuality.
“We ask people to understand that they cannot be in their homes with peace of mind and report any situation to the agencies that are deployed throughout the country,” he said.
