The sectoral vice-president of Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, urged calm in the population after the earthquake that occurred this Wednesday afternoon in the northern part of the country, which was felt in several cities.

In a call made to Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the minister also urged that as a preventive measure, the population of the cities where this earthquake was most strongly felt to stay out of buildings to prevent accidents resulting from aftershocks.

“The invitation to the population is to abandon homes and buildings because some structures have been damaged in the main event and then the aftershock comes, and they take advantage of the weakness and we are aware that we must work on these situations and maintain peace of mind,” he said.
