The sectoral vice-president for Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reported that after the work of the national government, the necessary equipment has arrived in the state of La Guaira to accelerate the search and rescue of people who are under the rubble of the more than 100 buildings that collapsed in this coastal entity.
During contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) from the Guairense entity, the Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace specified that as part of the equipment, in addition to a backhoe and payloader for removing debris, a 100-ton crane was added.
“This crane is necessary because one of the problems where entire buildings collapsed is that the plates are one on top of the other so we have to start acting to try to rescue the companions who are there alive,” he said.
He pointed out that these actions are part of “one of the greatest efforts that could be made in the short time after the accident that occurred here with the subject of this seismic event, which are unprecedented, not only for Venezuela, but for a large part of the world.”
“What happened in Venezuela is an event that experts say that every 1200 years; two replicas exactly the same in the same place and the effects are devastating, we see more than 100 collapsed buildings here in La Guaira”,
