The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, said that the country consolidates the development of cocoa through the lines of research carried out at the National Center for Cocoa Research, Development and Innovation (CENIDIC).

“Science and innovation make it possible to strengthen a strategic sector for the national economy,” he said through his Telegram channel.

He indicated that CENIDIC applies the directed pollination technique, the result of more than twenty years of studies, aimed at obtaining plants with greater performance and capacity to respond to pests and diseases. He added that this process is being conducted by a team of researchers dedicated to the generation of hybrids with high productive potential.

He explained that, through the Scientific-Technological Cocoa Network, improved seeds are delivered to producers in different regions of the country along with technical support for their incorporation into the field.

Jiménez recognized the support of Parliament and President (E) Delcy Rodríguez in approving the Law for the Promotion and Promotion of Venezuelan Cocoa, a regulation that consolidates the institutional framework for the development of the sector.
