This Saturday, January 06, the Minister of Popular Power for Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonado, highlighted that this year 2024 is loaded with an agenda for the revival of sports throughout the country.

“We received this 2024 with a busy agenda, we will have the Vuelta al Táchira, in short, we have an agenda, which we have named thanks to the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro for all his support and investment, such as the rebirth of sports,” said Maldonado from the spaces of the La Pastora Church, where the 79th edition of the Sports Mass was held.

He stressed that in the coming days Venezuela will host, for the first time, one of the most important soccer events in the region, such as the Pre-Olympic Football Championship.

He also highlighted that during the mass, the great achievements in sports during the year 2023 were highlighted. “We have highlighted the international events starting with last year's Caribbean Series with a new stadium in Caracas, where we had the return of the Alba Games. Also Central American and Caribbean people,” he said.

At the same time, he celebrated the fact that today Venezuela, thanks to the policies of the Bolivarian Government, has been able to reopen and open new sports spaces for the training of our athletes.

Maldonado also specified that this traditional canonical event in our country is now taking place in several states and not just in Caracas as is customary. “I thank the sports associations, the governors, the mayors and mayors for holding the Sports Mass in their different locations and that we are also working together that has been the key to Venezuela's success at this time in sports, which is teamwork,” he said.

It should be noted that within the framework of this activity, the holder of the youth and sports portfolio delivered sports equipment to the inhabitants of the parish of La Pastora, including: basketball balls, soccer, to continue promoting sports.
