A Through an official statement, the Minister of People's Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, commemorated International Women's Day.
In the letter, the minister congratulated the women of the Homeland and especially those who belong to the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).
Below is the full text of the statement:
Front-line fighter on all battle fronts... This is what Venezuelan women are like! Always defending with boldness and dignity the priceless legacy of freedom, sovereignty, independence and peace of this Homeland. By virtue of their integrity, the soldiers of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces exalt their courage, intelligence and temperament; recognizing in it their unique beauty and leadership, but essentially, their human sensitivity. That is why, through a military socio-cultural practice that makes it possible to distinguish what is feminine with a clear gender perspective, we continue to promote the principle of equality and non-discrimination, taking concrete actions towards the paradigmatic rupture of the old patriarchal model of subordination and exclusion.
En this very significant date, when we celebrate International Women's Day, we congratulate all women in the world and in Venezuela, especially those who today wear a uniform with dignity, decorum and honor. We are profoundly proud of those who, taking leading roles in the institution, have earned admiration and respect. But today, we are particularly honored by the unprecedented fact of having, for the first time in the history of our Republic and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, a courageous and exceptional woman like Dr. Delcy Eloína Rodriguez Gómez, constitutionally exercising the highest hierarchical authority as our Head of State and Commander in Chief; attributions that do not respond to a coincidence of fate but to the legitimate recognition of a trajectory of merit and of a leadership forged in the service of the Nation.
Sin doubts, our women are worthy heirs to a lineage of heroines who carry in their spirit the banner of justice and freedom. We reaffirm our commitment to continue fighting with them for the realization of great projects; always supporting them in the defense of their rights, struggles and dreams. Companions! You continue to embrace great and noble causes. We will continue to accompany them in their deserved vanguard role.
