The Minister for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, reported that the fire that occurred in the electricity room of the Libertador Simón Bolívar Station of the Ezequiel Zamora I Central Railway System, in Caracas, was an act of sabotage.

According to information published on the web portal of a well-known national newspaper, the information was provided by the minister through his account on the social network Instagram, where he repudiated the fact that it threatens “well-being and the transport service for the population”.

“We denounce a new act of sabotage in the public services of our town; a fire in the electricity room of the IFE's Libertador Simón Bolívar Station, a fact that we categorically repudiate because it threatens the welfare and transportation service for the population,” he said.

Valásquez, during a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), assured that appropriate investigations will be carried out to determine responsibility for the event.

“In the electricity room of the Libertador Simón Bolívar railway station, just in La Rinconada, there was a fire at the power plant, which we have no doubt was an act of sabotage motivated by the fact that we have recently maintained all the circuits, all the plants, the entire structure of the railway and it was in optimal condition,” he said.
