Minister Miguel Ángel Pérez Pirela published a video about the history of fire departments in Venezuela that officially began in 1882 with the founding of the first fire brigade in Maracaibo, in the state of Zulia and then the consolidation of the service, which after several decades managed to spread throughout the national territory.

It is worth noting that, on August 20, 1972, in the context of the First Bolivarian Firefighters Congress held in Maracaibo, a historic agreement was consolidated that not only unified relief forces throughout the country, but also officially institutionalized National Firefighter Day in Venezuela.

Venezuelans celebrate this date of great importance and in the form of thanks to more than 21,000 men and women who, throughout the country, become heroes of the country, through their dedication, courage and unwavering vocation of service, recently demonstrated after the earthquakes of June 24.
