“The result of the National Popular Consultation has been extraordinary,” said the Minister of Popular Power for the Communes, Ángel Prado, after closing the day.
He highlighted the high participation and motivation of communities, strengthened since the consultations of 2024, when works were carried out with resources provided directly by the Executive and with community leadership —mostly women— that has guaranteed transparency and moral solvency.
Prado thanked all the states of the country for the mobilization on March 8, a date proposed by women's organizations to make their role in Venezuelan democracy visible. He noted that, despite the difficulties experienced after the events of January 3, the people responded with hope and organization.
He especially congratulated Caracas for its example of participation and states such as Zulia and Monagas for their results. He stressed that in urban and rural areas, there was evidence of a sustained mobilization that reaffirms the legitimacy of the communal model and the commitment of leaders throughout the country.
“The Consultations begin the year on the right foot, with a campaign promoted by our colleagues and with a people determined to continue transforming their communities,” she said.
