Ministries of Science and Ecosocialism will form a permanent scientific body

The Bolivarian Government, through the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT) and the Ministry of Ecosocialism (MINEC), will create a scientific body to accompany and strengthen ecological policies.

The Minister for Ecosocialism, Freddy Ñáñez, explained that the scientific body will be made up of environmental specialists from the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC).

“All lines of research and action for Mother Earth will be designed in a perfect articulation table with the brightest minds in this country,” said Ñáñez.

The initiative came after a meeting between ministers Freddy Ñáñez, Gabriela Jiménez of the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology and the director of the IVIC, Alberto Quintero.

The IVIC, the main research institute in the country, has centers, laboratories, units and services focused on ecology, climate, environmental crisis and geomatics, which provide important knowledge with an integrative approach.
