The Bolivarian Government, through the Ministry of Popular Power for Electric Energy (MPPEE) and the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC), is moving towards the consolidation of strategic initiatives that seek to transform the culture of electricity consumption in Venezuela.
To this end, through the social block of the electricity sector, it has developed strategic programs with the main objective of promoting the rational and efficient use of energy from an early age, promoting social co-responsibility and environmental sustainability, according to the press release of the Ministry of People's Power for Electric Energy.
In this sense, the National Energy Education and Efficiency Program combines technology, education and regulation of electricity consumption, and is designed to form knowledge multipliers in communities and educational units of the country, in order to train citizens who are aware and committed to energy sovereignty, aligned with the principles of sustainability and efficiency.
The program is structured in three key areas to ensure its impact on sectors of society: The National Electricity System (SEN) and environmental preservation in school curricula, from preschool to university. This includes pedagogical activities designed to promote critical thinking and energy awareness in younger people.
Secondly, public and private entities: Technical training is offered to optimize energy consumption in workspaces, promoting sustainable practices in institutions and companies.
In third place Popular Power: Through the Technical Energy Boards (MTE), communities are empowered to actively participate in energy management, promoting the efficient use of resources and compliance with current regulations.
To ensure the national reach of the program, “trainer of trainers” workshops have been implemented in which CORPOELEC workers receive training in energy supervision.
These workers, in turn, guide users in complying with laws and codes related to electricity consumption.
In the school environment, collaboration with the Center for Innovation and Environmental Educational Management (CIGEA) allows teachers to be social multipliers.
For boys and girls, playful tools such as “Electrostorytelling” and theatrical performances have been designed, which facilitate the understanding of the energy saving message in a visual and effective way.
In addition, this educational program seeks to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases, in line with global commitments in the fight against climate change.
With this educational initiative, the State is committed to building human cities, where energy efficiency is the basis of lasting sovereignty.
The National Energy Education and Efficiency Program represents a significant step towards the cultural and energy transformation of Venezuela, to lay the foundations for a more conscious, sustainable and responsible future
