Officials from the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC), the Government of Miranda and the National Institute of Aquatic Spaces (INEA), carried out an inspection of the Laguna de Tacarigua National Park, located in the municipality of Páez, on the Barloventeño coast, to evaluate the rehabilitation of its navigation channels.

Oralis Moreno, supervisory technician at the Miranda Territorial Ecosocialism Unit (UTEC), reported on a route aimed at diagnosing the advance of vegetation and sediment that have closed navigation routes for tourist boats.

In a post on the social network Instagram, he highlighted that the main mission is to dredge and clean these roads to stop sedimentation, which affects the balance of the ecosystem. The authorities plan to recover the Largo, Tuy and El Mono pipes to optimize water flow between rivers and the sea. Moreno highlighted that the growth of vegetation has obstructed the passages, negatively impacting economic and tourist activity in Barlovento.
