In an atmosphere of overwhelming joy and national pride, the population of Monagas state received this Thursday the trophy with which Venezuela was proclaimed champion of the 2026 World Baseball Classic. The award came to the Eastern entity to be shared with the fans that celebrated the greatest milestone of the Creole ball.

The president of the Monagas State Sports Institute (Indem), Hermes Salazar, specified that the entity is celebrating the journey of this piece, which is a work of art designed and manufactured by the prestigious jewelry house “Tiffany & Co”.

The jewel dazzled hundreds of people who initially concentrated on the El Tejero toll booth, the starting point of a massive caravan that culminated in the Santa Cruz parish in the Maturín municipality.

During the reception, Salazar highlighted the emotional importance of this achievement for the country, recalling the feat of the national team in the international tournament.

“The greatest value and meaning of this cup is imbued in the hearts of Venezuelans, who supported their national team from the first inning of this classic, a national pride, which marked a milestone on such an important world sports stage, when they defeated the United States team in a historic final,” said the head of Indem.

Salazar also highlighted that the victory of the national team belongs to each of the Venezuelans, so he invited the entire population to be deeply proud of being the current world champions in baseball.

With the arrival of this emblematic trophy, Monagas is consolidated as a fundamental part of the national celebration and allows children, young people and adults to experience up close the thrill of being the current monarchs of world baseball after defeating the whole of the United States.
