With the participation of more than 400 young people from different states of the country, the National Meeting of the Robert Serra Movement was held in Caracas.

The activity was led by the Minister of Popular Power for Youth, Sergio Lotartaro; who was accompanied by the president of the Great Venezuelan Youth Mission, Genesis Garvett; and the deputies to the National Assembly, Oliver Guzmán and Mayerlin Arias.

During his speech, Lotartaro highlighted the validity of Robert Serra's legacy and the need to adapt the movement to the new codes of youth. “Robert didn't die, he's here, leading his own movement,” he said.

He also insisted on the importance of reinventing and transforming forms of youth action, serving diverse sectors such as students, barbers, gamers, motorcyclists, producers, musicians and urban artists, to expand participation and ensure that each young person feels accompanied and represented.

Lotartaro emphasized that the movement must be a space of unity and permanent growth, “every colleague present here must feel part of the Great Young Venezuela Mission.”

The Minister also called on Venezuelan youth and the people in general to actively participate in the day scheduled for next March 8, stressing that it will be an opportunity to demonstrate to the world the respect and strength of the country.

For his part, Garvett highlighted the importance of spaces for encounter and collective reflection, adding that “this meeting is a starting point for reflecting on why we are here, where we are standing and, above all, being able to recognize where we come from, what we have done, what we are and where we are going”.

He mentioned that organized youth are a fundamental social force to guarantee peace and stability in the country, “we are an important social force for a country to have peace and tranquility.”

During the day, working tables were set up to discuss the role of the movement in the current historical moment, as well as methods of territorial transformation in order to strengthen youth organization in communities.

The space for the meeting concluded with the presentation of strategic proposals by the participants, the consolidation of the communication battle to tell the truth about Venezuela, and the promotion of ideological formation based on the thinking of Robert Serra.
