Under the premise of transforming traditional knowledge into productive science, the Bolivarian Government formally initiated the first Diploma of Academic Training in Fisheries and Aquaculture.
This strategic program, which brings together 520 young people from 20 states of the country, seeks to consolidate generational change in a sector that is key to food sovereignty and exports.
The diploma course, according to a press release from the fishing portfolio, will last eight months, and will change the traditional educational model to focus on practical and territorial learning. The 520 students selected in this first cohort were captured through a national census that prioritized the children of fishermen and young people directly linked to the activity in 20 states of the country.
The training has a solid support ecosystem led by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture and the Ministry of University Education, with the endorsement of the Bolivarian University of Venezuela (UBV) and the technical support of CENIPA (National Center for Fisheries and Aquaculture Research), which makes more than 200 scientists available to tutor projects.
At the end of the eight months of training, each of the 520 participants must present a real productive project adapted to the needs of their community. This ensures that educational investment returns immediately to the local productive system, strengthening the communal economy and national distribution circuits.
