Members of the Anti-Drug Division (DCD) and the Police Division of Aquatic Spaces (DPEA) of the Bolivarian National Police Corps (CPNB) seized 163 marijuana wrappers on El Aro Island in Bolívar state.

According to information issued by the Ministry of People's Power for Interior Relations , Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP), the drug seized weighed approximately 62 kilos and 811 grams.

“The procedure was carried out after residents of the area warned about the movement of curiara-type boats coming from the upper towns of the Orinoco River, which allowed the police commission to locate the shipment distributed in four bags, although there were no arrests at the site of the discovery,” the ministry reported.

The seized material was placed under the protection of the competent authorities to continue with investigations to identify those responsible for this shipment of narcotic substances across the banks of the Orinoco.
