More than 720 young people participated in the 2026 Science and Technology Vacation Plan

During the month of August 2026, more than 720 children and young people actively participated in the learning and closing days of the Science and Technology Vacation Plan 2026 developed in the states of Zulia, Carabobo, Portuguesa, Apure, Anzoátegui, Miranda and Monagas, allowing participants to explore laboratories, aquatic modules, robotics and seismological stations.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the journey and approach by entity consolidated diverse training experiences: in Zulia, 17 boys and girls from the municipalities of Maracaibo and San Francisco interacted with researchers in the laboratories of the Zuliano Institute for Technological Research Foundation (INZIT); while in Carabobo, young people from the Santa Rosa sector in Valencia were introduced to astronomy from the Fermín Toro Technical School.

In addition, in Portuguese, more than 320 participants aged 7 to 17 completed four weeks of activities in Guanare, Páez and Araure. In Apure, 280 children and young people completed their training at the Fish Station and at the National Institute for Aquatic Spaces (INEA); in Anzoátegui, the fourth group completed their modules in Robotics and Telecommunications at the Meganucleus of the Educational Center for Science Teaching (CDEC) Barcelona.

Subsequently, in Miranda, 37 young people visited the headquarters of the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) next to the Science and Technology and Science Park; and in Monagas, 68 participants received training in risk management and seismic engineering provided by Civil Protection at the headquarters of FUNDACITE.
