Nahum Fernández highlights massive participation in the National Popular Consultation 2026

The head of Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, highlighted the massive participation of the people of Caracas in the National Popular Consultation 2026.
“It was an admirable mobilization. The communities came out with force to exercise their right and to decide on their priorities,” he said.

Fernández pointed out that the day reflects a profound democracy, where organized communities directly define the destination of resources. He explained that this mechanism makes it possible to meet the specific needs of each territory and cited as an example the proposal to build a boulevard presented by residents of the sector.

He indicated that this model of community management demonstrates that the community governs and that its scope could serve as a reference for other countries. In the framework of International Women's Day, she highlighted women's leadership in local processes and their role in improving the quality of life of communities.

The head of government assured that the high turnout shows confidence in the country's democracy, sovereignty and peace, and reiterated that community teams will remain active accompanying voters throughout the day.
