National Council of Universities approves 45 new graduate programs

The National Council of Universities (CNU), led by the Minister of Popular Power for University Education, Ricardo Sánchez, held a first meeting in 2026. During the day, 45 new postgraduate academic offers were approved for national universities such as the University of the Andes (ULA), University of Carabobo (UC) and University of Zulia (LUZ) with the purpose of strengthening the health, engineering and basic sciences sectors, simultaneously integrating the Program for Peace and Democratic Coexistence into university life.

In addition, the development of the plenary session made it possible to break down the strategic goals for this year. During the day, five new specializations were formalized in the fields of engineering, mathematics and basic sciences, while 45 fourth-level academic offers were approved.

In addition to the technical announcements, Minister Sánchez emphasized the relevance of the Program for Peace and Democratic Coexistence, as the central axis of major structural contributions to national peace.
