The President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted the extraordinary performance of the fishing sector, which has become a vital engine for the national economy after registering a 6% growth in gross domestic product (GDP) compared to last year.

“So far this year, compared to 2025, fishing has increased by 23%, which is a very good number,” said the President in Charge, referring to the figures that reflect the strengthening of primary production and the joint efforts of seafarers to promote the country's productive development.

He added that the export of seafood products has also grown by “225%”, which act as ambassadors of Venezuela to the world.

During a tour she took to Petare parish to oversee the distribution of fish at solidarity prices for Holy Week, the President in Charge highlighted the work of the “new product of the 'Compa' brand, which I always reflect, is the first collective brand in the country,” she said as an argument for the emergence of new fish processing plants.

The Head of State in Charge recognized the efforts of the women who are part of the “Weaving Networks” program, who handed her the recipe book for women weavers and fishermen.

“The recipe book for women weavers, fisherwomen and the Compa brand is now available,” Rodríguez confirmed to those attending the “Venezuela Eat Fish” Fair , held in Petare parish, Miranda state.
