National Library held a discussion on the legacy of Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa

In the context of the 124th birthday of the teacher
Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa, the National Library and Library
Services Institute held a discussion about his legacy, with the
intention of publicizing the documentation that is protected in the aforementioned institution.
The meeting that took place in the spaces
of the Hugo Chávez Hall of the National Library, was led by
Professor Guillermo Luque, who announced that one of the most
important actions of the teacher Prieto Figueroa and that it does not lose its validity.
“The
creation of the educational reform transformed and humanized education in
Venezuela, which was built by the teachers themselves, creating
inclusion at all levels and social scales,” he said.
He urged teachers to be
increasingly cultured: “Venezuelan education deserves increasingly prepared teachers.
Society is changing its realities, needs are changing, it is
necessary to approach problems differently from other times, and for this purpose, well-trained teachers
are required,” he added.
For his part, the director of the
National Library, Jorge Berrueta Simancas, spoke of the importance of the Library and
the personal documents of the teacher Prieto Figueroa that are under protection at the institution.
Berrueta took the opportunity to
invite all young students to visit the documentary area of
teacher Prieto Figueroa, which is in the National Library of Venezuela and
available free of charge to all young people, researchers and the general public.
