The state of Lara once again positions itself as the epicenter of international sports by becoming the official venue of the Pan-American Baseball Championship 5 in its adult and youth categories, which will be held from October 14 to 17 at the facilities of the Bolivarian Dome of Barquisimeto.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13 at 5:00pm, an event that will be attended by the World Classic champion manager, Omar López, as well as outstanding athletes, technical staff, local and national sports authorities, and the official action will begin on Wednesday, with competitive days from 8:00am to 8:00pm.

In the adult category, there will be four places in the world championship, so the four countries that are going to attend, which are Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Cuba, are directly qualified, “but the regulations require that they must play the necessary games for the legalization of the event to the world cup,” said the president of the Pan American Baseball Confederation, Aracelis León.

In the youth category, Venezuela, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Peru, Argentina, Mexico will be present, and, of the seven countries, four are those that will qualify for the world championship that will be held next year.

“We are very pleased to have one more international event in the Venezuelan territory, this time of Baseball 5 here in Barquisimeto. We already had the South American men's and women's futsal event, a well-organized event, which had all the support of those who have been making this possible: government, federation and national government,” said Deputy Minister of High Performance, Henyelberth Herrera.
