The Secretary of International Affairs and World
Victory of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Tania Díaz,
faced the former Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, after talking about Venezuela during
his speech at the 30th International Seminar on Parties and a New
Society, which is being held in Mexico City.
“Santander presented itself here, how regrettable
that 200 years of the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress Santander is presenting itself at this
seminar, to give Gran Colombia a thrust,” he said.
In that sense, Díaz described Petro's
words as “scoundrel” when referring to the events of January 3.
“You didn't even ask Venezuela the
scoundrel you just said now, you didn't even ask. I know that you
were aware of the operation, you were aware of the military operation
against Venezuela and you kept quiet, tell the truth,” he rebuked.
He also pointed out to Petro the betrayal of part
of his government, ignoring the mandate of President Nicolás Maduro. “From
the beginning when you didn't know him, you betrayed him,” he said.
