Padrino López: FANB continues to fly Commander Chávez's flags (+statement)

On the 13th anniversary of the planting of
Commander Hugo Chávez, the Minister of Popular Power for Defense, Vladímir
Padrino López, emphasized that the legacy of the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution,
stressing that he became a symbol of the struggle for social justice, equality and national sovereignty.
“Remembering this giant who rekindled the sacred
fire of the Fatherland in the depths of our consciousness
transcends the simple memory of an anniversary, because the most loyal and
coherent way to honor his memory is to be a living example of his values and teachings; by virtue of which, we reaffirm our commitment to his humanist precepts, of solidarity, social justice, equality, the common good and,
in particular, one
of his most precious and defended: peace,” he said in the statement.
He also indicated that Chávez's legacy is
also present in the permanent call for dialogue, national union and
the search for peace, principles that continue to guide the direction of the country today.
In view of this, he confirmed that “13 years after the fruitful
planting of the Eternal Commander, the Bolivarian National Armed Force
continues to fly its flags and 'With the strength of a thousand centaurs, in a
tumultuous, tremendous and victorious charge', it maintains its irreducible commitment to independence and freedom.”
