Padrino López: Sport allows us a national cohesion to continue defending our sovereignty

The sectoral vice-president of Defense and Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, highlighted this Saturday the spirit of unity and friendship represented by the XXXVII Military Inter-Academy Games 2026.

During the closing of the sports competition, from the gymnasium of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army (AMEB), in Fuerte Tiuna, Padrino López highlighted that these are traditional games “that always increase camaraderie, fraternity, the spirit of friendship, the spirit of union, friendship between military institutes”.

“We had a sports joust and you are well aware that one of the most sublime practices of humanity is sport. Sport unites us. If something unites us in humanity, said Mandela, it is sport. Sport can do absolutely anything,” he said.

In addition, he stated that sport, as a human self-requirement, “allows us not only to have institutional cohesion, but also a national cohesion to continue defending our national sovereignty, our principles of independence, our Bolivarian principles.”
