The first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante, highlighted this Sunday the role of Venezuelan women in community social work, when the National Popular Consultation 2026 was held, this March 8, International Women's Day.

From the Petare parish in the Sucre municipality, Miranda state, where the people came out massively to vote for their projects, the deputy stated that “it is the Venezuelan woman, the woman of the community, of the urbanization, of the neighborhood, who take up community social work with great strength, with great courage.”

He stressed that it is women “who have built with their own hands, for the most part, every solution, every participation of our people based on the well-being of all and all”.

“Today there are elections in Venezuela and we could say that there are 36,000 candidates (...) There are 36,000 projects, ideas, aspirations, which were problems, needs identified by our people, were converted into projects, were nominated and are being chosen today by Venezuelans,” he added.
