Long lines of voters were observed from the early hours at the voting centers set up by the National Electoral Council (CNE) in the state of Aragua, where the people will elect more than 1,100 justices of the peace.

In this entity in the center of the country, Aragüeans must choose from among the more than 2,300 candidates for justices of the peace who, starting in 2025, after being accredited by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), will exercise judicial authority in the territory.

Regarding this, the magistrate of the Supreme Court, Tania D'Amelio, pointed out that after the election, the judges and justices of the peace who are elected by the vote of the people will receive a training process by the country's highest court and will then be accredited.

He stressed that, once accredited, State institutions will have a list of these judges in order to know who is the judicial authority for that territory and thus articulate.
