The President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, delivered machinery for the Rain Plan this Saturday, to reinforce risk mitigation works due to the beginning of the rainy season in 13 states of the country.
“We must pay attention to this stage that humanity is experiencing under a climate emergency; understand that rain is also the product of the thawing of the poles, which increases sea level and makes rainfall much more intense,” said the President in Charge, a presidential press review.
He said that Venezuela is prepared to face the rains and that, in addition to the equipment delivered, works such as retaining walls and road dams are being promoted, especially in the Zulian region and the Andes, to ensure maximum safety conditions.
The President in Charge called for citizen awareness and for articulated work between mayors, governors and the National Government to address the consequences of climate change.
