Portuguese: 570 patients underwent gallbladder surgery between June and July

Through the regional plan One Surgery for All, 570 patients were operated on in Portuguesa between June and July, according to information published on the web portal of the newspaper Úlmas Noticias.

According to the publication, the pathology treated was gallbladder and the interventions were performed at the Acarigua-Araure hospital, “after a census, using the laparoscopy technique and guaranteeing the patient preoperative evaluation, examinations and mobilization”.

In this regard, Luis Oropeza, medical director of the hospital, explained that this number of patients were treated in 43 sessions.

It was also announced that starting August 13, a new census of patients with gallstones will be opened to activate a second phase of surgical care .

“The registration will take place at the headquarters of the Government of Portuguesa in Guanare. Those interested must provide a medical report and an echosonogram to support the diagnosis,” the newspaper reported.
