Civil Protection of the Portuguese State remains alert to the heavy rains caused by the passage of Tropical Wave No. 28 and its interaction with the Intertropical Convergence Zone have generated floods and overflows of rivers and streams in the Portuguese state. The most affected areas are concentrated in the state's mountainous and coffee-growing region.
The director of PC Portuguesa. Daniel Márquez reported that they remain deployed under constant monitoring after the passage of tropical wave number 28.
He explained that heavy rains increased the flow of rivers such as the Guanare, which led to the activation of early warning systems to protect communities in low-lying areas of the state.
