The President (E) of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, appointed Coromoto Godoy as the new Ambassador Permanent Representative of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN). Through Telegram, the president said she was confident in her trajectory to defend national interests and consolidate the national presence in the organization.

This phase seeks to strengthen international cooperation and give continuity to Bolivarian foreign policy in the world. Rodríguez thanked Samuel Moncada, who served in office since 2017, for his work, highlighting his commitment before taking on new strategic tasks.

Godoy is a lawyer graduated from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) with extensive diplomatic experience, having served as ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, India and Spain.

Until her recent appointment, she served as Minister of Foreign Trade, backed by a career that began under the mandate of Hugo Chávez.
