The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, assessed this Wednesday the decision of the President of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, regarding his exclusion from the list of nationals sanctioned by the North American country's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

Through his account on the social network X, Rodríguez pointed out that this action represents “a step in the direction of normalizing and strengthening relations” between Caracas and Washington.

“We are confident that this progress will allow the lifting of the existing sanctions against our country, which will allow us to build and guarantee an effective binational cooperation agenda for the benefit of our peoples,” he stressed.

In this regard, the president in charge urged “to continue making progress in the construction of a prosperous Venezuela for all.”

In an official notification, the Department of the Treasury deleted the two entries that linked Rodríguez to the SDN List, starting at the end of 2018.
