The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, celebrated this Monday the record of participation in the
first National Popular Consultation 2026, held this Sunday, March 8,
which confirms the body's commitment to peace in the country.
During a tour of the El Araañero Commune of Sabaneta,
in Fuerte Tiuna, Caracas, the president in charge congratulated the country's communes and communal
circuits “for what was an extraordinary vote, a record of citizen participation
was broken.”
He stressed that this result of participation is of vital
importance after the military aggression that the nation suffered on January 3,
“because what is printed and the message we want to bring to the world is that
Venezuela wants peace, Venezuela wants tranquility, we are not a country of
war, we are not warriors, we are people of peace.”
He added that Venezuela has managed to claim, in two months, its
history, sovereignty, independence and freedom in an environment of peace after the bombing.
“Here is the same victim people, setting an example of what must be done, of
what must be done, of consolidating participatory and leading democracy,” he said.
He stressed that, with the success of the Popular Consultation, Venezuela
sends a great message to the world, “which today is imbued with violence, with
war”, but “the people of Bolivar, the people of Chávez say: 'we want peace
and we care for peace among everyone. '”
