The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a telephone conversation this Monday with His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in the context of the current war escalation in the Middle East.

“I conveyed our solidarity in the face of the serious situation of instability and violence that has been unleashed in the Middle East, which has placed the entire region on the brink of a dangerous escalation of war,” Rodríguez said through his Telegram channel.

In addition, the president in charge reaffirmed before the Emir the Bolivarian Government's firm conviction “that only dialogue and diplomacy can open the way to peace”, in addition to expressing her desire that negotiations be reactivated immediately and urgently”, based on the principles of sovereignty, independence and the values enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.

Rodríguez also conveyed his condolences and “deep concern for the loss of civilian human lives throughout the region as a result of the ongoing conflict, reiterating our call for respect for international law and the preservation of peace.”
