President (E) Delcy Rodríguez held a strategic meeting with the international corporation Trafigura

As part of the work agenda of the National Executive, the president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting at the Miraflores Palace with a delegation from the transnational corporation Trafigura, led by its executive director, Richard Holtum.

The activity, which included the participation of the Ministers of Hydrocarbons, Paula Henao, of Economy and Finance, Anabel Pereira Fernández, and the president of PDVSA, Héctor Obregón, was carried out with the purpose of addressing issues of mutual interest in commercial matters, in line with the strategic development and international cooperation policies promoted by the Bolivarian Government under the principle of respect for sovereignty.

Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Singapore, Trafig is one of the largest multinational commodity trading companies in the world, established as the largest private metals dealer and the second largest oil dealer in the world, with important regional centers in Geneva, Houston, Montevideo and Mumbai.

By 2024, this firm had around 12,000 employees operating in 150 countries through 50 offices, backed by a solid infrastructure that includes historic investments in the Australian energy market of 28,100 million dollars, an agreement signed in 2014 to acquire a 30% stake in a copper smelter, as well as strategic assets in oil pipelines, mines, smelters, ports and storage terminals.
