President (E) Rodríguez reports that there were two earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 with more than 20 aftershocks

The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that on Wednesday afternoon there were two earthquakes, the first of magnitude 7.2 and the second of 7.5, affecting the states of Miranda, La Guaira, Aragua, Carabobo, Falcón and the city of Caracas.

In statements made late at night, the President in charge specified that there have been more than 20 aftershocks.

He pointed out that as a result of this strong earthquake, there were collapses in buildings and houses that are being treated by prevention and rescue agencies.

He indicated that despite the interruption of services in some areas of the states of Miranda, La Guaira and the city of Caracas, in the rest of the country services are still unaffected.

After urging to remain calm, he called for maintaining unity to save lives and be attentive to official information.
