The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that so far reports report 32 deaths and more than 700 injured who have been treated in emergencies in public hospitals and private health centers, due to the two earthquakes that occurred in Venezuela this Wednesday, June 24, which affected several states of the country and Caracas.

“There are 32 deaths without even counting the number that the state of La Guaira can give,” he said.

The figures were provided by the president in charge, in a second assessment of the attention and response efforts carried out in the face of seismic events.

He also mentioned the solidarity and support expressed by several countries such as China, “the president of Brazil, Lula Da Silva, has offered all the support, Caribbean countries such as Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Lucia, Belize, Dominica”.

“I also want to remind the population of the VenApp Platform to inform us if their home has been affected or if they have missing people or family members or friends,” he reaffirmed.

He also reiterated the suspension of classes and activities that work for non-essential services.

The president in charge stressed that hotels and shelters are available for those who lost their homes or whose housing infrastructure was affected by the earthquakes.

“I ask you to act in national unity, calmly and to know that together we will overcome this tragedy. A tragedy that today mourns many Venezuelan families, but that Venezuela is also receiving the love of the peoples of the world,” he said.

He emphasized that “thank you, thank you, thank you to those who have extended their hand to our country. I ask God to enlighten us and continue to protect us, that all of Venezuela receive that protective mantle.”
